I’m thinking of building a Home studio for music recording. What do I need to buy?

I’m thinking of building a Home studio for music recording. What do you think that it’s essencial to buy?? I’ve already have instruments, and a computer.

You need a digital audio workstation (DAW) which is the term used to describe the recording software. You will also need an audio/midi USB computer interface with built in music quality sound card. Then, perhaps microphones, and cables and if you do not have midi keyboard synthesizer like the Roland Juno-G midi workstation. You might also want one of those but, that is optional. So the very best way to get everything you need in one package, is to buy one of these. Most complete software and the better computer interface hardware – http://www.guitarcenter.com/Digidesign-Pro-Tools-Mbox-2-Factory-Package-773407-i1177447.gc – Or, if you are on a budget, this system is adequate and has all the essentials, but is just not as good – http://www.guitarcenter.com/Digidesign-Pro-Tools-Mbox-Mini-Package-773405-i1177445.gc

I songwriter and I use Pro Tools with an M-Box2 interface. I can use or create a drum track with either Pro Tools or one of my two keyboards and then I can add a rhythm guitar track, and a bass track and I have the foundation for the song. Then I just need to be a little creative and add a guitar or keyboard lead part and sing any vocals that are required and then mix and master that recording and I have a broadcast quality recording that I can sell at Amazon, iTunes, CD Baby, or Tunecore. You can even get that recording played on local radio stations and sold locally in record stores and coffee shops. The only thing you might want to add to that setup is you sing, would be a BOSS VE-20 Vocal processor. It really makes the vocals sound a whole lot better.
